CHAMBER COMMITTEES

AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE

Chamber ambassadors are enthusiastic and dynamic volunteers that promote member businesses and assist member representatives in achieving their goals through networking. They are the familiar faces at ribbon cuttings, new member orientations and other regularly scheduled programming. The team is key in engaging new members in the Chamber, identifying opportunities for members to maximize benefits and are vital to the continual growth and development of business relationships.

BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION COMMITTEE

Committee members conduct surveys with local businesses to uncover needs and encourage business growth. BRE committee members interview businesses to identify strengths and weaknesses of their local business community. The committee meets monthly to review surveys and provide feedback. Each member must be vetted due to confidentiality.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Members examine legislative issues at all levels of government to promote and protect the interests of the business community. The committee studies state and local government affairs in order to educate the general membership on issues of critical importance. The committee also arranges volunteers to attend local city council meetings to stay informed of local issues affecting businesses.

SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE

Special Events Committee coordinates volunteer support for major Chamber events. They evaluate the events purpose and recommend improvements as well as assist in driving and building attendance. This committee focuses on the timeline and implementation of our signature events. Committee members provide input for themes to create the atmosphere.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Committee members promote and influence excellence in education through recognition of local public and private schools. They work to identify outstanding achievements and provide awards such as Danny Gainin School of Excellence and the West Volusia Crystal Apple Awards to recognize high achieving schools and teachers.
