The DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce recently honored College Arms Towers, located at 101 North Amelia Avenue in DeLand, with the Chamber’s Beautification Award. College Arms Towers Inc. built a nonprofit, affordable housing for low income seniors, 40 year ago. They proudly serve the same population today. Spring cleaning has kept the staff busy painting and cleaning the outside areas at College Arms Towers. Landscaping contractor Jon Schultz did the beautiful grouping of plants, flowering trees, and roses around the outside of the building. The College Arms Garden Club is doing the park area landscaping. They are a great group of residents that love to give back to their community. You can see their creative work in the park as you travel near the intersection of Amelia and New York Avenue.
