Congratulations
the Alliance Community for Retirement Living
The Chamber’s July Beautification Award was presented
to the Alliance Community for Retirement Living.
The Alliance Community for Retired Living
has been in DeLand for over 52 years providing care
and services for senior adults. During that time they
have grown from one building to over 70 buildings, occupying
a 24-acre campus in the southwest area of downtown DeLand.
In January 2007, they employed Dennis Wright as their
Supervisor of Grounds. As a local central Florida owner/operator
of a garden center and nursery, Dennis brought with
him over 25 years of experience in Florida plant material
and landscape design.
Colorful gardens are popping up all
over the Alliance Community grounds. The use of a decorative
water fountain, hanging Pathos baskets, palms, poodle
cuts and other various potted plants have created a
garden-like ambiance in front of the Center for Health
Care. His idea is to create a colorful, appealing environment
with a soothing atmosphere for the nearly 300 residents
who make the Alliance Community their home. Future plans
are to create additional garden, sitting and activity
areas throughout the facility.
Congratulations
