The Beautification Committee of the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce was proud to present the August Beautification Award to Amelia Place Apartments located at 301-A Arrowwood Trail, off of S. Amelia in DeLand.

Amelia Place Apartments, a market rate rental community open to residents for a little over a year, is one of five rental communities owned and managed by Central Management Company. The residents at Amelia Place appreciate the attractiveness, location and the expert management CMC provides. Terry Chance is the District Manager for all of the Florida properties.

The landscape at Amelia Place consists primarily of Florida Native plants such as the evergreen Schillings Holly, Florida Anise and Walter's Viburnum used for the most part as building foundation plants. Deciduous blooming natives such as Beautyberry, Arrowwood, and Dogwood provide texture and color. Islands throughout are landscaped with native grasses, dune sunflower, blanket flower and palmettos. Other varieties of natives and non-natives grace the landscape as well.

Every resident enjoys a shaded trellised patio and a variety of vines are planted to enhance this feature. The beautiful bougainvillea (a native of South America) is a delight to residents and passersby as well.

CMC initiated the Flower Program 14 years ago in which Resident Managers receive awards for their flower beds at an annual banquet. They work hard to beautify and maintain CMC's properties. Much of the landscaping at Amelia Place Apartments is done by Linda Peattie, V.P. of Central Management Company.
