 The
campus of Stetson
University is situated on 100 acres in the heart of DeLand.
It was founded in 1889 by John B. Stetson, the famous hat
manufacturer. It is a highly respected university offering
bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in numerous
areas of study. The University's College of Law is located in
St. Petersburg. Stetson University has close ties to the
business community and has become an important part of commerce
in Volusia County. The university is active in business
research and its Lynn Center is site of numerous business
seminars throughout the year. Stetson University is ranked very
high among the nation's colleges by U.S. News & World
Report.
