CBP Small Business Outreach Program CBP is about much more than Border Protection. They also facilitate U.S. Trade regulations. Information will be shared concerning CBP’s Small Business Outreach Program requirements so that you can be an informed business owner. Representatives from your local CBP Field Office and Center of Excellence & Expertise will be available to provide insight on what you need to look out for. Workshop Agenda: • CBP 101 Import Process – Both CBP and the importing/exporting community have a shared responsibility to maximize compliance with laws and regulations. In this section of the workshop, information will be shared with you to encourage you as importers, to become familiar with applicable laws and regulations. • Enforcement and Compliance • Exporting Cargo 101: What is required to export my goods? • Small Business Regulatory Fairness Act (SBREFA) CBP has a direct responsibility for enhancing U.S. economic competitiveness. By reducing costs for industry and enforcing trade laws against counterfeit, unsafe, and fraudulently entered goods, CBP is working to enable legitimate trade, contribute to American economic prosperity, and protect against risks to public health and safety.
