Due to COVID concerns and permitting the Tomoka Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K will not be held in its usual location in Ormond Beach this year. Instead we will be taking a Field Trip to the West side of Volusia county to run on the beautiful paved trails and along Lake Monroe. This race will still be on a USATF certified course and will be a Boston Qualifying event.
Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, will mark the eighth annual Tomoka Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K Races.
The 8th Annual Tomoka Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K, will take place in DeBary, FL on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021. This race includes the full marathon, half marathon, and a 5K run/walk. The full marathon is a certified as a Boston Qualifier. This year we will also have a Ruck division for the half marathon. The course this year is different from the previous years and is an out and back course that utilizes the East Central Regional Rail Trail. This course is arguably as beautiful as the Tomoka Loop course with lots of Old Florida" scenery including views of Lake Monroe, the St. John's River, and oak lined trails. This course follows one of Florida’s Scenic Highways and runners will quickly see why it earned this distinction as they experience the natural beauty of the area from beginning to end.
The start and finish area for all events will be at Gemini Springs in DeBary, FL. The post race party will be held in the oak area of the park and features complimentary food, drinks and beer for participants.
Funds raised by this event will be returned to the local community in a variety of ways. Donations are made to student and citizen groups who provide volunteer support. In the past these groups have included: VFYMCA, Team RWB, Seabreeze Boys Cross Country Team, Boy Scouts of America, Ormond Beach Civil Air Patrol, ERAU Lady Eagles Soccer Team and the Halifax Health Foundation.
